Brian Khoury
Reporter and Photographer
Reported, edited and shot for the Pierce College Roundup across news, sports and features, and is finishing a journalism degree at CSUN
Brian Khoury is a journalism major at California State University, Northridge, where he transferred in August 2025 after earning associate degrees in journalism and in social and behavioral sciences from Los Angeles Pierce College. He reports and shoots, and the beat he knows best is the one CalCompute needs most: explaining a public institution to the people it is supposed to serve, in language they already use.
At Pierce he worked the Roundup as a reporter, copy editor, news editor and photographer. The bylines cover the range of a small newsroom: Men’s soccer takes down Glendale in November 2023, a profile of a former athlete turned director that December, an explainer on the FAFSA process for the 2024 cycle, Learning the mindfulness of meditation and A scientific search of the skies in April 2024, a street-beat feature that May, and an opinion piece on working alone that November. His work there took second-place awards for feature writing, headline writing and photo essay, and he made the Dean’s Honor List.
He has been a courtesy clerk at the Woodland Hills Ralphs since June 2021, five years of the kind of work where the public is not an abstraction, and has been recognized there for going beyond the job as written.
Brian Khoury expects to finish his bachelor’s degree in journalism at CSU Northridge in December 2027. He is based in Los Angeles.
