Jorge De Santiago

Graphic Designer

Journalism and public relations major at CSUN working with Agency 398 and PRSSA, with a decade of design work and a staff writer's post at ELAC Campus News

Jorge De Santiago is a journalism and public relations major at California State University, Northridge, where he works with the campus chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and with Agency 398, the student-run public relations firm in CSUN’s journalism department and a CalCompute partner. His interest is the part of communication that sits between an organization and the people it answers to, which is the position CalCompute will be in if the Framework Report does its job.

He transferred to CSUN in August 2025 from East Los Angeles College, where he earned an associate degree in journalism and has been a staff writer for Campus News, the college’s student newspaper, since August 2024. His coursework and certifications run to the harder end of the discipline: reputation risk management and crisis communication, the two subjects that decide whether an institution survives its first bad week.

The design work came first and has outlasted everything else. He has been a graphic designer with PRIME GRAPHIX since 2015, a decade of production work alongside school, and he currently works as a meat clerk at Ralphs.

Jorge De Santiago expects to finish his bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations at CSU Northridge in May 2027. He is based in Los Angeles.
